Along with the AMD Athlon Neo MV40 1.6GHz single-core processor, RS780 chipset, and the 1366×768 display, the ThinkPad X100e includes up to 4GB of RAM, up to 320GB of hard drive space, a 3- or 6-cell battery for up to 5.1 hours of run time, optional 3G and GPS receivers, a full-size keyboard with trackpoint, a multi-touch trackpad, and Windows 7 or XP operating system

Lenovo Enhanced MultitouchLenovo introduced today Enhanced Multitouch display technology, initially available on the ThinkPad X200 Tablet PC and the ThinkPad T400s laptop.

Enhanced Multitouch supports one- and two-finger gestures, as well as digitizer pen input. For instance, users can zoom in by pinching fingers together, and zoom out by moving fingers apart; pan vertically or horizontally by moving two fingers up and down or left and right; rotate an image by moving one finger around another; right-click by holding one finger on an object and tapping another finger; or flick using quick linear pen or touch movements.

Lenovo ThinkPad T400sLenovo has announced the ThinkPad T400s 14.1″ thin-and-light business laptop, measuring in at 0.83 inches at its thinnest point and starting at 3.91 pounds.

The T400s, “nearly 20 percent” lighter than its ThinkPad T400 predecessor, features the Intel Core 2 Duo SP9400 2.4GHz or SP9600 2.53GHz processor, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, up to 250GB HDD or up to 128GB solid state drive, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive.

“The ThinkPad X200, X301, X200s, X200 Tablet, T400, T500, R400 and SL300 laptops meet a barrage of military specifications tests and are enhanced with uniquely-designed durability features such as an airbag-like protection system and a roll cage in select models,” the company says.

Lenovo ThinkPad W700dsLenovo is going to release the ThinkPad W700ds, a dual screen version of the company’s latest mobile workstation.

Along with the primary 17-inch display, the W700ds includes a vertically mounted 10.6″ screen with a resolution of 768-by-1,280 pixels. The smaller display is aimed to help professional users such as photographers, designers, and engineers. It can be tilted up to 30 degrees, “to recreate a dual-display setup typically found with a standard desktop workstation”.

The PC makers are now shipping laptops with Intel’s WiMAX/Wi-Fi Link 5050 module, formerly codenamed “Echo Peak.”

Lenovo ThinkPad X200 TabletLenovo’s ThinkPad X200 Tablet PC, featuring Intel Centrino 2 technology and a 12.1-inch display with touch screen and pen input support, is now available for purchase.

According to the PC maker, there are X200 Tablet models “shedding almost 10 percent over the previous generation Tablet PC’s weight”. Additionally, the X200 convertible laptop also offers models with nearly 50 percent longer battery life.

The Lenovo Thinkpad X301, which is a successor of the X300 laptop, starts at less than three pounds and is one-inch thin. Lenovo says the ThinkPad X301 “provides on average nearly 20 percent better performance over the ThinkPad X300 notebook due to the latest DDR3 memory and the latest Intel Core 2 Duo ultra low volt processor.”

The Lenovo ThinkPad W500 is based on Intel’s Centrino 2 mobile platform and includes the latest Core 2 Duo 45-nanometer processors, the ATI Fire GL M86-GL 512MB dedicated video card, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive space or a 64GB solid state drive, and various optical drive options, including Blu-Ray. Another option is the Intel Turbo Memory 2GB module, for faster boot-up and better responsiveness.
