ThinkPad is the high-quality laptop PC brand name introduced by IBM in 1995. The ThinkPad notebooks were designed and sold by IBM, until 2005. Since then, the ThinkPad has been manufactured and marketed by Lenovo which purchased the IBM PC division.
Lenovo ThinkPad T400 Overview
Lenovo launched yesterday the 14.1-inch ThinkPad T400 business notebook, based on new Intel Centrino 2 technology.
The new ThinkPad T Series systems, featuring the T400 and T500 models, come with Intel Core 2 Duo 45nm processors, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, optional Intel Turbo Memory 2.0, and switchable graphics. The video solution consists of the Intel GMA 4500HD integrated graphics combined with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470/3650 256MB dedicated GPU. Users are enabled switch between the power-saving 4500HD and higher-performance discrete chip on-the-fly. These laptop PCs have up to 320GB of hard drive capacity or an optional 64GB solid state drive, various optical drive options, including Blu-Ray, and an optional webcam.
Lenovo ThinkPad T500 Overview
The 15.4-inch ThinkPad T500 is one of Lenovo’s recently announced business-class notebooks, based on new Intel Centrino 2 technology.
The latest ThinkPad T Series laptops, featuring the T500 and T400 models, come with Intel Core 2 Duo 45-nanometer processors, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, optional Intel Turbo memory 2.0, and switchable graphics. This video solution consists of the Intel GMA 4500HD integrated GPU combined with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470/3650 256MB dedicated video cards. Lenovo’s ThinkPad R400 14.1-inch business notebooks, based on Intel Centrino 2 technology, are now available.
The R400, as same as the 15.4-inch R500, comes with Intel’s Core 2 Duo processors or Celeron CPUs, the GMA 4500HD integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of HDD storage, a built-in optical drive with Blu-Ray burner choice, and the optional Intel Turbo Memory 2.0 module.

The Lenovo ThinkPad R500 15.4-inch business-class laptop with Intel Centrino 2 technology is now available for purchase.
The R500, as same as the 14.1-inch R400, comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo or Celeron processors, the GMA 4500HD integrated GPU, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 320GB of hard drive storage, a built-in optical drive with Blu-Ray burner option, and the optional Intel Turbo Memory 2.0 module.
Lenovo Launches Motevina-Based ThinkPad T, R, W Series
Along with the ThinkPad X200, and SL Series, Lenovo has launched the new ThinkPad T, R, and W notebooks, based on next generation Intel Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T400 (14.1-inch), T500 (15.4″), R400 (14.1″), and R500 (15.4″) series provide a wide selection of the latest Intel Core 2 Duo 45-nanometer processors. In addition, the lower-end R series feature the new Celeron CPUs.
Lenovo ThinkPad X200 Ultraportable Now Available
Lenovo launched today the ThinkPad X200 ultraportable notebook, featuring a 12.1-inch display, Intel’s Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform, an extended battery life “up to 9.8 hours”, and a starting weight of 2.95 pounds.
Lenovo’s ThinkPad X200 utilizes the latest Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 or P8600 45-nanometer processors, clocked at 2.26GHz, and 2.40GHz respectively. Other core components include Intel X4500 HD integrated graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, and up to 320GB hard drive or a 64GB solid state drive. The laptop does not have a built-in optical drive. For DVD / CD reading and burning and Blu-Ray playback, the X200 uses a separate docking station - the X200 Ultrabase. The widescreen display of the X200 has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.

The Lenovo ThinkPad SL300 is an upcoming Intel Centrino 2-based 13.3-inch ultraportable in PC maker’s new SL notebook line, which balances between business computing and multimedia functions.
The 4.6-pound SL300 laptop comes with the new 45-nanometer Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” processor with a 1066MHz front side bus, up to 6MB of cache, and clock speeds ranging from 2.26GHz to 2.53GHz, depending on model. It will be also offered with 800MHz FSB Core 2 Duo chips.

Lenovo ThinkPad SL300, SL400, SL500 Series Released
Lenovo released today the ThinkPad SL SL300, SL400 and SL500 Series notebooks, balancing between business computing and multimedia functions. The Lenovo ThinkPad SL laptops feature 13.3-, 14.1-, and 15.4-inch displays and Intel’s Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform.
The SL laptops include the new Core 2 Duo 45-nanometer CPUs with 1066MHz front side bus, integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD or Nvidia GeForce 9300M dedicated GPUs, up to 320GB of hard drive space, up to 4GB of RAM, and an optional 2MP web camera. There are also 802.11 wireless, Bluetooth, WWAN and GPS on select models, an optional Blu-ray optical drive, and HDMI connector. The SL notebooks will also support WiMAX connectivity.
Lenovo ThinkPad X200, X200s, Tablet Ultraportables Leaked
Lenovo prepares the ThinkPad X200 12-inch ultraportable notebook series, based on the upcoming Intel Centrino 2 vPro “Montevina” mobile platform, according to leaked documents at Thinkpads.com forums.
The Lenovo Thinkpad X200 will come in three versions: the X200, X200s and X200 Tablet. These are going to replace current X61, X61s, and X61 Tablet PC systems, respectively.
Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Ultraportable Now Available
“The thinnest and lightest full-function notebook in its class” - the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 13.3-inch ultraportable - is now available for purchase.
“The ultra-thin ThinkPad X300 measures less than three-fourths of an inch at its thinnest point, or approximately the height of a U.S. quarter coin,” Lenovo’s press release says.
Lenovo Releases SLED 10 Linux T61, R61 ThinkPads
Novell’s SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) operating system is now available on select Lenovo ThinkPad T61 and R61 14-inch widescreen notebook PC models. In February, this preloaded Linux option will be extended to additional 14″ widescreen T and R Series models, and select T61 15″ widescreen laptops, Lenovo has announced this week.
Apparently, the SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 SP1-powered T61 and R61 14″ ThinkPads are now available for large enterprise customers. Lenovo says these notebooks will be available for purchase on the Web on February 19.
Penryn-Based Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Coming Next Month
Lenovo ThinkPad X61 ultraportable notebooks with the new 45-nanometer Intel Core 2 Duo processor, codenamed “Penryn“, will be available starting next month, according to an announcement from Lenovo.
The refreshed Thinkpad X61 12-inch laptops will be available with the Core 2 Duo “Penryn” T8100 at 2.1GHz and T8300 at 2.4GHz, both with 3MB of L2 cache.
First Penryn-Based Lenovo ThinkPads Available
The first Lenovo ThinkPad R61 and T61 notebook models with Intel Core 2 Duo 45-nanometer processors, codenamed “Penryn“, and the “Santa Rosa Refresh” notebook platform are now available for purchase through the Alvio Inc.’s website.
The refreshed ThinkPad R61 laptops ship with the Core 2 Duo T8100 at 2.1GHz, while some of the ThinkPad T61 models now incorporate the T8100 or the T8300, which is clocked at 2.4GHz. These “Penryn” CPUs have an 800MHz front-side bus and 3MB of L2 cache and are claimed to provide better performance and power efficiency, when compared to their precursors - Core 2 Duo “Merom” 65nm chips.
