The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Comarco Inc, has announced a voluntary recall of around half million Targus Universal Wall Power Adapters for Laptops.

Faulty wiring in the adapters can cause the connector tips to heat and melt the plastic encasing the connector tips, posing a burn hazard to consumers. The company has received 518 incident reports. Eight consumers have reported a finger tip or hand burn.
