Toshiba Dynadock Wireless U Docking StationToshiba today launched its Dynadock Wireless U USB universal docking station, featuring Wireless USB technology that eliminates the need for a cable between the docking station and laptop.

The Dynadock Wireless U includes a video card for connecting to an extra VGA or DVI monitor with up to 1680 x 1050 resolution, an audio card supporting 7.1 surround sound, and six USB ports including two front Sleep-and-Charge USB ports.

Sony Ericsson MD400Sony Ericsson announced yesterday the MD400 and MD400g HSPA mobile broadband USB modems, providing users with 7.2Mb/s download and up to 2.0Mb/s upload speeds.

The Sony Ericsson MD400 and MD400g are the first USB modems with combined M2 Memory Stick Micro and microSD card slot. The modems have a built-in antenna complemented with an additional swivel ‘Diversity’ antenna for better performance.

Asus Eee Stick to Enable Wii-Like PC Gaming

Eee StickAsustek is going to launch the Eee Stick, a package of two controllers that use motion sensors. The Eee Sticks will enable Nintendo Wii-like wireless gaming experience on PCs and will be initially offered with the Asus Eee PC low-cost laptops and desktops.

The Eee Stick for PC gamers will be available in mid-August. The price is currently unknown.

PCMCIA Announces Faster ExpressCard Standard

ExpressCardsThe Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA), the trade association for PC Card and ExpressCard technology, has announced that the ExpressCard Standard 1.2 is undergoing a significant update to accommodate the faster data transfer speeds.

“The new ExpressCard Standard 2.0 will support transfer rates ranging from two to 10 times faster than ExpressCard Standard 1.2, depending on the data protocol used. The ExpressCard Standard 2.0 will enable manufacturers to develop higher performance ExpressCard products for consumers,” the PCMCIA’s press release says.

Lenovo ThinkPad and IdeaPad 90W Slim AC/DC Combo AdapterLenovo today announced its new ThinkPad and IdeaPad 90W slim AC/DC combo adapter, the company’s first all-in-one adapter designed to charge other electronic devices such as cell phones, PDAs, and mobile audio devices.

“At about a half-inch thick and 33 percent smaller than Lenovo’s previous combo adapter, it’s roughly the size of a deck of playing cards – small enough to easily fit into a shirt pocket,” Lenovo says adding that the adapter is 25 percent lighter than the company’s previous model.
