Yoggie Announces Gatekeeper Pico, Gatekeeper Card Pro for Macs
Yoggie Security Systems today launched the Gatekeeper Pico for Mac and Gatekeeper Card Pro for Mac, the “world’s first miniature hardware internet security devices for MacBooks and Mac desktop computers”.
The devices provide 12 internet security applications on a dedicated hardware. Security functions in the Gatekeeper for Mac products include integrated stateful inspection firewall, Snort intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems, Sourcefire VRT certified Snort rules, Kaspersky anti-virus and anti-spyware, Mailshell anti-spam and anti-phishing, SurfControl Web content filtering, adaptive security policy, multi-layer security agent, Layer-8 security engine, and VPN client (Card version only).
Solar-Powered Bag Charges Laptops, Other Devices
Moma store offers a solar-powered laptop bag that can charge a notebook computer, as well as cell phones and other electronic devices.
“The solar panel generates enough power to fully charge a typical laptop from a day of direct sunlight. It includes a battery pack, which stores the charge and automatically converts it to the required output voltages. Common adaptors are included, and other devices can connect via USB or a car charger,” the product description says.
Logitech V550 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse Unveiled
Logitech has announced the V550 Nano cordless laser mouse for notebooks with the Clip-and-Go dock, which lets users clip the mouse to the laptop.
The V550 Nano also features a tiny receiver called Plug-and-Forget Nano, which stays nearly flush against the side of the computer (protruding just 8 mm), so it doesn’t have to be unplugged when you stow your laptop.

Sony Ericsson Introduces MD400, MD400g HSPA Modems
Sony Ericsson announced yesterday the MD400 and MD400g HSPA mobile broadband USB modems, providing users with 7.2Mb/s download and up to 2.0Mb/s upload speeds.
The Sony Ericsson MD400 and MD400g are the first USB modems with combined M2 Memory Stick Micro and microSD card slot. The modems have a built-in antenna complemented with an additional swivel ‘Diversity’ antenna for better performance.
Choiix to Offer Innovative Laptop & Netbook Cases
Choiix, a Taiwan-based brand-unit of Cooler Master, will start volume production of its metal carrying cases for laptops and netbooks in July, DigiTimes reports.
“The product functions as a bag for carrying notebooks and netbooks, yet it can also be used as a stand, while the aluminum sleeves on the two sides of the bag help disperse heat generated by the system”, Choiix describes.
Asus Eee Stick to Enable Wii-Like PC Gaming
Asustek is going to launch the Eee Stick, a package of two controllers that use motion sensors. The Eee Sticks will enable Nintendo Wii-like wireless gaming experience on PCs and will be initially offered with the Asus Eee PC low-cost laptops and desktops.
The Eee Stick for PC gamers will be available in mid-August. The price is currently unknown.
FastMac Introduces U-Charge for MacBooks, iBooks, PowerBooks
FastMac recently announced “U-Charge,” a universal battery charger for Apple MacBooks, iBooks, and PowerBooks.
“The new U-Charge works externally & connects directly to the battery’s terminals to recharge the battery quickly and efficiently, without the need for a laptop. Batteries from multiple Apple laptops can be recharged using this single, compact, lightweight and portable charger,” the press release says.
PCMCIA Announces Faster ExpressCard Standard
The Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA), the trade association for PC Card and ExpressCard technology, has announced that the ExpressCard Standard 1.2 is undergoing a significant update to accommodate the faster data transfer speeds.
“The new ExpressCard Standard 2.0 will support transfer rates ranging from two to 10 times faster than ExpressCard Standard 1.2, depending on the data protocol used. The ExpressCard Standard 2.0 will enable manufacturers to develop higher performance ExpressCard products for consumers,” the PCMCIA’s press release says.
Lenovo Announces Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter
Lenovo today announced its new ThinkPad and IdeaPad 90W slim AC/DC combo adapter, the company’s first all-in-one adapter designed to charge other electronic devices such as cell phones, PDAs, and mobile audio devices.
“At about a half-inch thick and 33 percent smaller than Lenovo’s previous combo adapter, it’s roughly the size of a deck of playing cards – small enough to easily fit into a shirt pocket,” Lenovo says adding that the adapter is 25 percent lighter than the company’s previous model.

Connect-A-Desk has unveiled a new patent pending product with the same name, giving users the freedom to use their laptops while walking or standing.
“It’s great for inspectors, warehouse supervisors, inventory control specialists, bloggers, journalists, and anyone who wants the freedom to be mobile while using their computer,” the company’s press release says.
Pyramat Announces Laptop Sound Booster
Pyramat today announced its Laptop Sound Booster notebook stand, “which turns laptops into a personal home theater experience by amplifying sound through two powerful, full range Pyramat speakers”.
Along with a pair of 4W stereo speakers, the Laptop Sound Booster features an ergonomic design and a heat-dissipating base. The speakers are powered through an USB port. There are also an Audio-In port and a volume control wheel. The Laptop Sound Booster has an iPod docking station and can be powered by batteries when it is used as a speaker system for iPods or MP3 players.
Asustek Released Accessories for ASUS Eee PC
Asustek has released accessories for the ASUS Eee PC, including a mouse, headphones, power adapter, and extra batteries for this ultraportable notebook.
The mouse has a resolution of 1000dpi and connects to an Eee PC through USB. It is available in five different colors in order to match various Eee PC casings. The headset consists of a pair of headphones and comes with 1.15m of cable and 3 sizes of earbud gel tips. The power adapter provides various power code specifications for different countries, while the extra battery features 4 cells with 5200mAh or 6 cells with 7800mAh.
EyStar Bluetooth GPS Receiver Announced
Secured Digital Applications today unveiled its new EyStar Bluetooth GPS receiver for the U.S. market.
