Toshiba Launches M300/M305 14.1″ Notebook Series
Toshiba has announced the Satellite M300/M305 laptop series, featuring a 14.1-inch display, Intel’s Centrino technology, and a new chassis design.
The first two available M300/M305 configurations are the Toshiba Satellite M305-S4822 with the Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 65nm processor at 1.83GHz, and the Satellite M305-S4826 with the Core 2 Duo T8100 45nm CPU at 2.1GHz. The both notebooks include the Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 integrated GPU, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive with 5,400rpm rotational speed, DVD burner, Harman Kardon stereo speakers, and an embedded web camera with Toshiba’s Face Recognition software. The 14.1″ screen in the M300/M305 has a resolution of 1280-by-800 pixels.
Toshiba Launches AMD-Powered Satellite A305D Series
Toshiba has launched the Satellite A305D 15.4-inch notebook PC series, featuring a new design and AMD’s processors.
The laptop maker currently offers two A305D models – the Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6831 with a $949.99 price tag and the A305D-S6835 for $999.99. Unlike the Intel-based A300/A300 series, the both systems include the AMD Turion 64 X2 Gold Edition TL-64 CPU at 2.2GHz, the ATI Radeon X1250 integrated GPU which manages a 15.4″ 1280×800 display, 3GB of DDR2 memory, and a DVD burner. A305D-S6831 has a 250GB hard drive, while the A305D-S6835 sports 320GB of storage. Both HDDs spin at 5,400rpm. These notebooks incorporate harman/kardon stereo speakers and a web-camera, which can be used for face recognition.
Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8818 17-Incher Now Available
The Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8818, the first model in the newly designed Satellite P305D notebook PC series with 17-inch display and AMD’s processor, is available now.
The Satellite P305D-S8818 costs $899.99 after $50 mail-in rebate. It sports the AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core CPU at 2.1GHz, the ATI Radeon X1250 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive spinning at 5,400rpm, DVD burner, harman/kardon stereo speakers and a built-in webcam with face recognition technology. The notebook’s 17″ display provides a resolution of 1440×900 pixels.
Toshiba Satellite U405-S2820 Now Shipping
The Toshiba Satellite U405-S2820, the first model in the newly designed Satellite U400/U405 13.3-inch notebook PC series, can be purchased now.
The Satellite U405-S2820 is priced at $949.99 and features the Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor at 1.83GHz, the Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 integrated GPU, 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive with 5,400rpm rotational speed, DVD burner, stereo speakers, and an embedded web camera with Toshiba’s Face Recognition. A 13.3″ display in the U405-S2820 has 1280×800 resolution.
Toshiba Satellite A305-S6834 - First A300/A305 Model
The Toshiba Satellite A305-S6834, the first notebook in the redesigned Satellite A300/A305 15.4-inch series, is now available for purchase.
Priced at $869.99, the Satellite A305-S6834 features the Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor at 1.83GHz, the Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 200GB hard drive at 4,200rpm, DVD burner, built-in web camera with face-recognition function, and harman/kardon stereo speakers. A 15.4″ display in this laptop has a resolution of 1280-by-800 pixels.
Toshiba Announces Redesigned Satellite Laptops
Toshiba today announced its redesigned Satellite laptop PCs with new finish and patterns, as well as with Sleep-and-Charge USB ports and facial recognition technology.
The new notebooks include four Toshiba Satellite models: the Satellite U400, Satellite M300, Satellite A300 and Satellite P300, with 13.3-inch, 14.1-inch, 15.4-inch and 17-inch widescreen displays.
Toshiba Introduces Satellite X205-SLI2, SLI4 Gaming Laptops
The Toshiba Satellite X205-SLI2 and Satellite X205-SLI4 notebooks are now available for purchase. These 17-inch gaming laptops feature dual Nvidia GeForce graphics and the new Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” 45nm processor.
Both preconfigured systems include the Core 2 Duo T8100 “Penryn” CPU at 2.1GHz and two NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics cards in SLI, providing 512MB of GDDR3 dedicated video memory. These laptops incorporate two 160GB 5,400rpm hard drives for a total of 320GB, and a HD DVD optical drive with DVD writing capability.
Toshiba Satellite U305-S2816 with Intel Penryn Now Available
Toshiba yesterday announced the Satellite U305-S2816 13.3-inch laptop, featuring the new Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 “Penryn” 45-nanometer processor.
Along with the T8100 CPU at 2.1GHz, the Toshiba Satellite U305-S2816 includes 2GB of DDR2 system memory, expandable to 4GB, a 250GB 5,400rpm hard drive, a DVD burner, and the Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics which manages the notebook’s 1280-by-800 pixel 13.3″ display.
Toshiba Announces Intel Penryn-Based Laptops
Toshiba today announced that its Qosmio, Satellite X205 and select models of the Satellite U305 notebook series will incorporate Intel’s new line of Core 2 Duo mobile processors, codenamed “Penryn“.
“New models of the Satellite X205 will use the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100 to drive gaming performance even higher, while the 4.5 pound Satellite U305 will harness the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100 to prove that mobility and performance are not mutually exclusive. The Qosmio G45 with the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 will continue to lead the industry’s integration of HD DVD technology,” a Toshiba’s press release says.
Toshiba Satellite X205-SLI4 Features Intel Penryn, Dual GPUs
The Toshiba Satellite X205-SLI4, the company’s new 17-inch gaming laptop, features an Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” 45-nanometer processor and the “Santa Rosa Refresh” mobile platform, according to a product page on Ecost.com.
The newest 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 CPU with a 2.1GHz clock speed and 3MB of L2 cache is paired with two Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT graphics cards in the Satellite X205-SLI4. These GPUs, which manage the notebook’s 17″ 1680×1050 display, operate in SLI mode and provide 512MB of dedicated GDDR3 video memory.

Toshiba Satellite X205 Now with SLI Technology
Toshiba today announced the addition of NVIDIA SLI technology to its Satellite X205 17-inch gaming notebook series. The dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video cards in SLI mode are available in the Satellite X205-SLI1 and the Satellite X205-SLI3 configurations.
“Both models feature dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processing units (GPUs) with combined 512MB of dedicated video RAM and are compatible with Microsoft DirectX 10, ensuring that gamers can take full advantage of the cutting-edge graphics technology that are available within today’s ultra-realistic gaming titles,” the company’s press release says.
Toshiba Satellite P205D DTR Laptop Announced
Toshiba Recalls 1,400 Sony-Made Laptop Batteries in the U.S.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of around 1,400 Sony-made batteries used in Toshiba’s notebooks. The recalled lithium-ion batteries can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
The affected laptops are select Toshiba Satellite A100, Satellite A105, and Tecra A7 models, which were sold in the United States from January 2006 through April 2006. According to CPSC, Toshiba has received three reports outside of the United States of notebook batteries overheating. No injuries have been reported.
