The latest laptop computers featuring touch screen displays. Contrary to Tablet PCs, these notebooks are not convertible.
Panasonic has unveiled the Toughbook 53 semi-rugged laptop, featuring a 14″ screen with optional touch input support, Intel “Sandy Bridge” processors, and optional 4G connectivity.
The new Toughbook sports a magnesium alloy case with handle and has passed MIL-STD-810G tests, surviving drops from 30-inch height on six faces. It has a spill-resistant keyboard with backlight, sealed ports, and shock-mounted data storage.
The recently unveiled Acer Iconia Touchbook dual-screen laptop conecpt has become a finished product and is now available for pre-order.
Amazon offers the Acer Iconia-6120 Dual-Screen Touchbook with two 14″ multi-touch displays, Windows 7 Home Premium OS with a custom user interface and virtual keyboard and touchpad, the Intel Core i5-480M processor with integrated Intel HD graphics, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 640GB hard drive, and a 4-cell battery for “up to 3 hours” of battery life.
The HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition and HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition series notebooks with the latest Intel 2nd Generation Core “Sandy Bridge” processors are now available for purchase in the U.S.
The 15.6-inch Pavilion dv6t Quad (dv6tqe) and 17.3-inch dv7t Quad (dv7tqe) come with the Intel Core i7-2630QM 2GHz, i7-2720QM 2.2GHz, or i7-2820QM 2.3GHz quad-core processor and up to 8GB of RAM. The smaller laptop includes the Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6570 1GB dedicated video card, 1366×768 display with optional touchscreen capability, and up to 1TB of hard drive space, while the bigger model has the Radeon HD 6570 option only, 1600×900 screen, and up to 2TB of storage using dual HDDs.
Dell prepares the launch of the Latitude E6520 and Latitude 6420 business laptops, according to a blog post by Eric G. software engeneer.
The Dell Latitude E6520 15.6-incher replaces and E6510 and features 2n Generation Intel Core processors codenamed “Sandy Bridge”, including dual and quad core chips, optional touchscreen, LED display backlight, and a 3.2MP web camera.
Dell is working on the Precision M4600 and Precision M6600 mobile workstations, according to Eric G. software engineer.
The Dell Precision M4600 15.6-incher replaces the M4500 and features 15.6″ LED backlight display with optional touch-screen capabilty. Video card choices include professional-class AMD FirePro M5950 1GB GDDR5, NVIDIA Quadro 1000M 2GB GDDR5, and Quadro 2000M 2GB GDDR5.
Dell will release soon the Dell XPS 17 L702x 17-inch entertainment laptop, which will replace the recently launched L701x, according to a blog post by software engineer Eric G.
The Dell XPS 17 L702x will include multi-touch and 3D display options and Nvidia’s Optimus switchable graphics technology with the GeForce GT 440M 1GB or GT450M 3GB video cards, and up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM.
Acer unveiled today the Acer Iconia Touchbook dual-screen laptop concept device.
The “world’s first 10 finger multi-touch dual-screen notebook” has two 14″ 1366×768 displays, Acer’s custom user interface, Windows 7 Home Premium OS, and an Intel Core i5 processor. It lacks a physical keyboard and uses a virtual on-screen one.
Hewlett-Packard has released the HP Mini 5103 business netbook with optional touchscreen and the latest Intel Atom processors.
The HP Mini 5103 features a 10.1-inch 1024×600 or 1366×768 LED-backlit display with optional capacitive multitouch tehnology, the Atom N475 1.83GHz or N455 1.66GHz processor with the GMA 3150 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard disk space or up to 128GB solid state drive storage, a 4- or 6-cell battery, optional Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator for 720p and 1080p HD video playback, and Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Starter or SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 OS.
Panasonic has announced the Toughbook 31, “the most powerful fully-rugged notebook computer on the market”.
The Toughbook 31 features a 13.3-inch 1024×768 XGA touchscreen sunlight-viewable display, the Intel Core i3 or i5 processor, ATI Radeon HD5650 512MB dedicated video card, up to 8GB RAM, up to 250GB hard drive capacity or an optional 256GB solid state drive, optional DVD burner, and a battery life of up to 11 hours with a charging time up to 47% faster than the previous model.
Dell has released the Latitude 2110, a 10.1-inch business netbook with the Intel Atom CPU and optional touch-screen.
The Dell Latitude 2110 features the Atom N470 1.83GHz chip with the GMA 3150 integrated graphics, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 16GB or 64GB solid state drive or a traditional hard drive with a capacity of up to 250GB, and a 3- or 6-cell battery.

Besides the standard Latitude E6510 and E6410, Dell has released the Latitude E6410 ATG semi-rugged 14.1-inch business laptop.
The Latitude E6410 ATG meets the MIL STD 810G standards for shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, and altitude and features the Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU, Intel’s integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB of hard disk space or up to 256GB of solid state drive storage, and a DVD burner or Blu-Ray drive.
Hewlett-Packard’s recently announced netbook for business users, the 10.1-inch HP Mini 5102, is available now.
The Mini 5102 comes with the Intel Atom Processor N450 at 1.66GHz, the Intel GMA HD graphics, optional Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator for high-def video decoding, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive space or up to 80GB of solid state drive storage, a 4- or 6-cell battery, and Windows 7 Starter OS.
iBuyPower has released the Battalion Touch CZ-10, “the World’s first multitouch gaming notebook”.

Lenovo has released the 15.6-inch ThinkPad W510 mobile workstation laptop with Intel’s Core i7 processor, an NVIDIA GPU and an optional multi-touch screen.
The Lenovo ThinkPad W510 features the Intel Core i7-720QM at 1.6GHz, the i7-820QM at 1.73GHz, or the 2GHz i7-920XM, all with quad CPU cores. The laptop comes with the NVIDIA NVS 5100m 1GB DDR3 discrete graphics card, up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB of hard drive space or a 128GB solid state drive, and a DVD burner.
