CompAmerica announced the “immediate availability” of the nVidia GeForce Go 7950GTX graphics card option, when purchasing two of its gaming laptops: the AMD FX-60/X2 Athlon Dual Core based Orca FX-2/7950, and the Intel Core 2 Duo based Dolphin 5724/7950. The company indicated that it will extend all current 7900GTX based offerings in current laptop and desktop models with the 7950GTX and its desktop dual equivalent “within two weeks”. The nVidia GeForce Go 7950GTX comes with 512MB of video memory.
“The extremely advanced 7950GTX extends the performance range for gamers and multimedia users and developers while coming in at an incremental price of $99. The newer Extreme HD capability of the 7950 leads to extreme high definition using an extended edition of the 7900 GeForce Go Engine,” stated returning company CEO Dr. Jack A. Shulman.
The recently announced GeForce Go 7950 GTX GPU features DirectX 9.0, Shader Model 3.0 and film quality high dynamic range (HDR) lighting. For HD DVD and Blu-Ray playback, the GPU offers acceleration of HD video formats like H.264 through NVIDIA PureVideo technology.
The basic DOLPHIN 5724 configuration with 7950 GTX graphics and Core 2 Duo T5500 processor costs $ 2410 at CompAmerica’s online shop. The Orca FX-2’s configuration page is currently unavailable.
