CompAmerica has announced its new Snow Leopard Laptop (or SL2 for short), an “ultra-lite, ultra-durable” notebook featuring 12-inch widescreen and magnesium alloy case.
Snow Leopard 6220 is powered by Intel Core Solo Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) U1400 1.2 Ghz processor with 2MB of L2 cache. It has 512MB of SDRAM, upgradeable to 1.5GB and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with up to 128MB of shared memory. Snow Leopard Laptop or SL2 provides up to 120GB of storage with Parallel ATA hard drive and a double layer DVD burner.
Regarding Internet and networking, CompAmerica’s Snow Leopard 6220 incorporates an Intel Pro Wireless 3945 LAN 802.11a/b/g, a built-In 56K V90 fax/modem, a PCI-Express 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet LAN card and an optional Bluetooth.
The SL2 6220 has one IEEE1394 FireWire port, 3 USB 2.0 ports, one ext. CRT port, one PCMCIA Type II slot and built-In 4-in-1 flash memory reader. The laptop also has fingerprint reader.
The new SL2 notebook weights around 2.8 pounds and comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home preinstalled.
The Snow Leopard Laptop’s starting price is $1400. The cheapest SL2 configuration has 512MB of SDRAM and 40GB hard drive.
