Just FCC approved D-Link DWA-643 Xtreme N Notebook ExpressCard, will enable notebook computers to connect to high-speed 802.11n wireless networks, Mobile Magazine reports.
Along with draft 802.11n wireless standard, which isn’t likely to become approved by IEEE until 2008, the DWA-643 Xtreme is backwards compatible with current 802.11g and 802.11b Wi-Fi.
D-Link DWA-643 Xtreme N Notebook ExpressCard should start shipping pretty soon, according to Mobile Magazine.
It is claimed that IEEE 802.11n wireless speed is expected to scale to 600Mbit/sec, with a range 50% greater than Wi-Fi currently offers.
