Dell’s Alienware M15x 15.6-inch gaming laptop is now available with the Intel Core i7 mobile processor, which is based on the latest microarchitecture called “Nehalem”.
Dell’s first Core i7 laptop is configurable with the Intel “Clarksfield” Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB cache), Intel Core i7 820QM 1.73GHz (3.06GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB cache) and the Intel Core i7 920XM 2.0GHz (3.2GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB cache). The m15x comes with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M 512MB or the GeForce GTX 260M 1GB dedicated video card, up to 8GB DDR3 1066MHz or 1333MHz memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space or a 256GB solid state drive, a DVD burner, Blu-Ray combo drive or Blu-Ray burner, and Windows Vista OS.
The display has a resolution of 1600×900 or 1920×1080 pixels and LED backlight, while for surround sound there is a 5.1 speaker system.
The Alienware M15x is available with black, gray or red lid and starts at $1,499 at Dell.com.
Its preliminary ship date is 10/21/2009.
