Dell now offers the Linux-based Inspiron 1525n and XPS M1330n laptops with the new 8.04 “Hardy Heron” version of Ubuntu distribution.
The company says the new version of Ubuntu Linux on their PCs delivers more peripheral support – like ATI Video Graphics, Dell Wireless, Fingerprint Readers, HDMI, Bluetooth and MP3/WMA/WMV.
The 15.4-inch Inspiron 1525n and 13.3-inch XPS M1330n start at $549 and $949, respectively.
In early August, Dell will also add the XPS M1530n and Studio 15n to the Ubuntu-powered line-up, according to a forum post at Direct2Dell blog.

It;s about time…. Ubuntu 8.04 was released months ago.
Now all that’s left to do is for Dell to drop Windows.
