Dell Inspiron 15zThe Dell Inspiron 15z is a recently released 15.6-inch laptop, advertised as a thin, light and ultra mobile system for consumers.

At 1-inch thin, the Inspiron 15z is based on the Intel GS45 chipset and comes with the Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz or Core 2 Duo SU9400 1.4GHz processor, the GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner.

Its 15.6″ display has a resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels and uses LED backlight.

Dell’s new notebook also includes a built-in 1.3MP web camera, dual microphones, stereo speakers, HDMI and VGA outputs, wireless LAN and Gigabit Ethernet LAN connections, optional Bluetooth, three USB ports, and a 7-in-1 media card reader.

The 15z starts at 5.1 pounds with its standard 4-cell battery, which provides 4:23 hours of run time. The battery life can be extended to 8:07 hours and 10:10 hours with the 6-cell and 9-cell unit respectively, according to Dell.

The chassis color options include Obsidian Black and Cherry Red.

The Dell Inspiron 15z runs Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit OS and starts at $599 at Dell.com, with a preliminary ship date of 10/05/2009.

The 15z is thinner, lighter, and more energy efficient than the standard 15.6” Inspiron 15, which is, on the other side, more affordable with its base price of $399.
