Dell has released the Inspiron 17, a consumer laptop with a 17.3-inch display.
The Dell Inspiron 17 is configurable with an Intel Pentium or Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray drive.
Its screen is managed by the Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics. The display has a resolution of 900p (1440×900) and uses LED backlight. The 1080p screen option, as well as the ATI Mobility Radeon 4330 256MB/512MB GPU choice, will be available in September.
The Windows Vista-powered notebook also sports a built-in web camera and microphone, optional 1.3MP web camera, WiFi, an LAN port, optional Bluetooth, three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a 7-in-1 media card reader, and a VGA output.
The Inspiron 17 starts at 6.8lbs with the 6-cell battery. It’s currently available in three colors: black, red, and blue.
The base price is $499 at Dell.com.
