Dell Adds Core i5 CPUs to Inspiron, Studio Laptops


Dell Inspiron 15 Core i5Dell launched today the updated Inspiron and Studio laptops that now include the latest Intel Core i5 processors.

The mainstream 14-inch Inspiron 14, 15.6-inch Inspiron 15, and 17.3-inch Inspiron 17, as well as 15.6″ Studio 15, ship with Intel Core i5 – 520M dual core CPU with clock speed from 2.40GHz to 2.93Ghz, depending on usage. The refreshed Inspiron laptops have redesigned thinner cases.

The Studio 17 is still available with the previously released quad-core Core i7 CPUs, which are no longer options when configuring the Studio 15. However, the new Inspirons and Studio notebooks will be available soon with both Core i5 and Core i3 processors, in addition to the Core i7 in select Studio models, according to Dell.

The i5-powered Dell Inspiron 14 (1464), 15 (1564), and 17 (1764), and Studio 15 (1558) start at $899, $849, $979 and $1,149, respectively.
