Dell Core 2 Duo MobileDell today announced availability of the Intel Core 2 Duo (Merom) notebook processors on all XPS and Precision mobile computers, as well as select Inspiron and Latitude laptops.

The Dell XPS M2010, XPS M1710 and XPS M1210 can be purchased with Core 2 Duo CPU immediately with starting price of $3500, $2300 and $1200 respectively, as same as Inspiron E1705 with the cheapest Merom powered configuration starting at $1124. Dell Precision M90 featuring Intel Core 2 Duo processor is priced starting at $2,239, while Dell Precision M65 with new CPU costs $1,849 at least.

According to the press release, customers will be able to configure the Dell Inspiron E1505 and E1405 laptops with Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processors later this week, and the Dell Latitude D820, D620, and D520 beginning next week.

Multimedia enthusiasts now can be ready for the processor-intensive decoding required by the emerging Blu-ray video and computer optical disk technology. Workstation customers will benefit from 64-bit application support, as well as ability to multi-task in a complex environment and easily run multi-threaded applications”, Dell published announcing new Merom laptops.
