Dell Latitude 13 Business Ultraportable Now Available


Dell Latitude 13The Dell Latitude 13, a business ultraportable with a 13.3-inch display, a “razor-thin” aluminum body, and Intel’s ultra-low voltage processors is now available for purchase.

With a 0.65 – 0.78″ thin profile and a starting weight of 3.36 lbs, the Latitude 13 comes with the Core 2 Duo SU7300, Core 2 Solo SU3500, or Celeron 743 processor, the GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, up to 300GB of hard drive space or a 16GB or 64GB solid state drive, a sealed 6-cell battery, a separately sold external DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive, and Windows 7, Windows Vista or Ubuntu Linux OS.

Its display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, LED backlight and anti-glare coating.

Dell’s thin-and-light notebook includes a built-in 1.3MP web camera and microphone, a single speaker, WiFi, Bletooth, Gigabit LAN, and optional mobile broadband connecticity, as well as two USB ports, an eSATA/USB combo port, an ExpressCard slot, and a 5-in-1 media card reader.

The PC maker has announced previously that the Latitude 13 features various corporate-class technologies, such as remote manageability, desktop virtualization through certification from Citrix and VMware, full disk encryption, and Trusted Platform Module (TPM), as well as Dell ImageDirect service which “lets IT create, update and deploy system images 24/7 from a secure online location.

The Dell Latitude 13 can be ordered for a base price of $559 for Ubuntu-based configurations and $589 with Windows at the Dell official online store.

    The Latitude 13 looks like the same as the Vostro V13. Is the aluminum body the only difference?
