Dell Latitude D630Dell’s business-oriented Latitude D630 and D830 laptop PCs are now available with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” 45-nanometer processors.

The 14.1-inch D630 and 15.4-inch D830 can be configured now with the 45nm Core 2 Duo T9300 at 2.5GHz and T9500 at 2.6GHz. These CPUs add $130 and $390 to the overall price of the notebook respectively, when selected instead of the older T7250 65nm “Merom” processor at 2GHz.

The T9300 and T9500 have the same prices as the T7700 and T7800 “Meroms”, which have a smaller L2 cache size.

Intel “Penryn” CPUs are claimed to boost notebooks’ speed, save on battery life, and produce less heat than “Merom” chips.
