The Latitude E6520 meets MIL-STD 810G standard, ensuring that the notebook is resistant to extreme temperatures, vibration, dust and high altitudes. It has a spill resistant keyboard, protective LCD seal and a 360-degree bumper for added screen protection, an anodized aluminum display back, powder-coated base, reinforced steel hinges, a magnesium alloy internal frame, and zinc alloy latch.

Regarding internal components, there are the 2nd Gen Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors, ranging from the dual core i3-2310M to quad-core 2720QM, and Intel’s integrated HD 3000 graphics or the Nvidia Optimums switchable graphics technology that combines the Intel HD 3000 with NVIDIA NVS 4200M 512MB discrete video card. The laptop comes with up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB hard drive or up to 256GB solid state drive, and an internal bay which can hold one of swappable modules, such as a 320GB 7200 HDD, DVD burner or DVD-ROM, an extended 3-Cell battery, or USB 3.0 module.
