Dell is to release its first Tablet PC - the Latitude XT - on November 5th, according to the forum post on the French website LessDelliens.
The leaked specifications say the 12.1-inch Dell Latitude XT convertible notebook features the Core 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage U7600 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, the ATI RS600ME/SB600 chipset with the Radeon Xpress 1250 integrated graphics, and support for up to 3GB of RAM.
The post says the Latitude XT will be available with a CCFL or LED backlight display, depending on customer’s choice. In both cases, the 12″ display has a 1280×800 resolution. According to the previous reports, the XT supports pen and touch input, and provides an optionally enhanced outdoor viewing capability.
This Tablet PC has a wireless LAN module supporting 802.11n draft standard, while the earlier published details say it also features optional Bluetooth and wireless broadband 3G (HSDPA, EV-DO Rev. A) connections, three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a FireWire, a VGA output, a fingerprint reader, and an optional Smart Card slot.
The Dell’s first convertible weighs between 3.5 and 3.96 pounds, depending on chosen battery.
Currently, the Dell Latitude XT’s official pricing is unknown, but the Crave Blog reported it will likely be between $1,500 and $2,000.

Safe to say that it won’t be released in November. And since it is already too late for shipping before Christmas, it is probably safe to say that it won’t be released in December either.
Maybe Dell it wait for the new year? Either way Dell has played this very foolishly. Dell needs to replace the PR Department with one that cares about keep their customers in the loop.
I’m sure many people have moved on and refuse to wait for Dell.
