Dell Latitude XT Tablet PCEngadget has revealed more details on upcoming Dell Latitude XT Tablet PC, which is the company’s first touch screen convertible computer.

The Latitude XT, aimed at educational, healthcare and corporate marketplace, features a (the most likely12.1-inch) widescreen display with 1280 x 800 screen resolution, the pen and touch input support, and an optional outdoor viewing capability. It is powered by Intel’s single or dual-core ultra-low voltage (ULV) processor and has an integrated graphics solution reportedly.

Along with WiFi options supporting up to 802.11n wireless standard and Ethernet LAN, Dell Latitude XT has optional Bluetooth and wireless broadband 3G (HSDPA, EV-DO Rev. A) connections. There are also three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a FireWire, a VGA output, and a fingerprint reader, accompanied by an optional Smart Card slot for enhanced security.

Although the precise availability date is currently unknown, Engadget reports that “looks like Dell’s still on track for Q3″.

Back in May, Dell Business Product Group General Manager Jeff Clarke said Dell’s convertible laptop is expected to be available “later this year”. It will ship with Windows Vista operating system, accordingly.
