Dell is the leading laptop supplier in North America in the second quarter of 2008 with a 21.9 percent share of notebook PC shipments, the latest report by DisplaySearch reveals.
Dell is followed by Hewlett-Packard and Acer (includes Gateway & Packard Bell) with shares of 21.4% and 14.4% respectively. Apple’s notebook sales had the most significant jump – from 6.6% in Q2 2007 to 10.6% in Q2 ’08. Toshiba is fifth with 9.0%, while all other notebook vendors cover 22.4% of the North American market.
In the global market, HP completed Q2’08 with a full two-year run as the leading notebook vendor.
