Dell Inc. now offers Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” 45-nanometer processors as options in its select XPS M1730 gaming laptop configurations for the U.S. market.
The 17-inch M1730 is now available with the Core 2 Duo T8300 and T9300 45nm CPUs, clocked at 2.4GHz and 2.5GHz respectively. The basic configuration, priced at $2,399, includes the T8300 chip. Selection of the T9300 adds $125 to the base price, but it is still cheaper than older 65nm Core 2 Duo T7800 and Core 2 Extreme X7900 options with + $400 and + $750 price tags.
In addition, the Dell XPS M1730 is expected to be available soon with the 45nm Core 2 Extreme X9000 CPU, which is overclockable as same as its X7900 precursor.
