Everex plans to unveil a 10.2-inch low-cost laptop in November, PC Advisor reports.
First International Computer (FIC), a Taiwanese contract manufacturer of Everex mini-laptops, says the new 2.65-pound netbook will feature built-in 3G mobile broadband and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi capabilities and an option for WiMax wireless connection. According to FIC representatives, it can run either a Windows XP or Linux OS and use either a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor or a similar CPU from Via Technologies.
“The device can hold up to 2GB of DRAM, comes with a 1.3-megapixel webcam and either a 4-cell or 6-cell battery. In addition, it hosts two USB ports, an express card slot and 4-in-1 card reader. The 10.2in WSVGA LCD screens on the model use LED (light-emitting diodes) backlights for 1024×600 resolution,” the report says.
There is no information on pricing.
It was reported earlier that Everex will unveil in the second half of 2008 the 8.9-inch CloudBook MAX, an improved version of the original CloudBook.
Dont buy the cloud book the company will not stand behind their product. I guess because they know its junk.
