Fujitsu has announced the development of the MHZ2 BH series of 2.5-inch hard drives with a maximum capacity of 320 GB. Sales of the new series will begin in February 2008, according to the company.
The Fujitsu MHZ2 BH HDDs, designed primarily for use in notebooks, small form factor desktop PCs, and consumer electronics products, use a SATA2 3.0Gb/sec intefrace and spin at 5,400rpm. These hard drives operate at 1.9 watts when reading or writing data, and have 0.6W power consumption on idle.
Along with 320GB units, Fujitsu will ship 40GB, 80GB, 120GB, 160GB, 200GB, and 250GB MHZ2 BH models.
The 320GB 2.5″ hard drives have been already announced by Toshiba and Western Digital.
