FujitsuFujitsu Computer Systems Corporation has announced four LifeBook notebooks powered by next-generation Intel “Santa Rosa” platform and Centrino Pro processor technology: the LifeBook E8410 desktop replacement, the T4220 Tablet PC, the A6030 mainstream laptop, and the highly configurable E8310.

The 6.1-pound Fujitsu LifeBook E8410 with a 15.4-inch widescreen display is “one of the lightest in its class”. The LifeBook E8410 notebook offers Intel Active Management Technology. It will also come with an optional professional-use NVIDIA’s graphics processor. The E8410 features a new magnesium-alloy case, spill-resistant keyboard, stainless-steel hinges, Fujitsu Shock Sensor hard drive protection and a new optional built-in camera.

Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 Tablet PC is a new ultra-light 4.3-pound convertible notebook providing digital pen input, along with the traditional keyboard input. The T4220 with a modular bay is packed with a full complement of security features and the Fujitsu Shock Sensor hard drive protection system. It offers the bi-directional display hinge, which turns the screen in both directions.

The LifeBook A6030 laptop is equipped with a 15.4-inch Color-Enhanced Crystal View Display, a spill-resistant keyboard, the Fujitsu Shock Sensor hard drive protection system, an array of security options, and an optional point-and-write touch-pad for signature capture and short note taking. The A6030 comes with Microsoft Vista Home Premium.

The 6.2-pound LifeBook E8310 corporate notebook has a 15-inch display and provides “a highly flexible platform that can be configured to meet a diverse array of business demands”. The E8310 has extensive security features, the spill-resistant keyboard, the stainless-steel hinges, and the Fujitsu Shock Sensor hard drive protection.

All of four announced “Santa Rosa”-based Fujitsu LifeBooks feature the new Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 800MHz front side bus, and offer either the Intel GM965 Express Chipset or the Intel PM965 Express Chipset. The LifeBook T4220, LifeBook E8410, and A6030 notebooks also offer the Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N, providing “up to five times the performance compared to 802.11g and twice the wireless range”.

These four notebooks will become available in Q2 2007.
