Fujitsu LifeBook BiodegradableFujitsu has designed a notebook computer with a biodegradable chassis, CNet reports.

“The Fujitsu LifeBook sports a chassis made from a plastic made from cornstarch, rather than petroleum. When it is disposed of, the chassis will decompose in a matter of months, as opposed to decades for standard plastic,” according to CNet.

This eco-friendly plastics is also used in Fujitsu cell phones and point-of-sale terminals. The company’s devices with biodegradable parts are currently available only in Japan, but are also expected to be available in US and Europe reportedly.
