Acer’s subsidiary Gateway has released their first netbook with Intel’s Cedar Trail platform. Priced at $280 at Best Buy, the Gateway LT4004u has the same price tag as the Acer Aspire One AOD270 and both are the cheapest “Cedar Trail”-based netbooks on the market.
The LT4004u packs the dual-core Atom N2600 CPU at 1.6GHz with GMA 3600 graphics, 1GB RAM, a 250GB HDD, and a 6-cell battery for up to 8 hours of operation on a single charge. Unlike the previous generation LT netbooks, the Gateway LT4004u does include HDMI output, but USB ports remained on 2.0 speed. The netbook weighs 2.65 pounds and is 1″ thin. Judging from its images, the chassis design remained unchanged when compared to the old Gateway LT series.
