General Dynamics has released GoBook MR-1, “the world’s smallest and lightest rugged laptop computer.
The GoBook MR-1 weighs two pounds and fatures 5.6-inch outdoor viewable SVGA-W display, a 1.2Ghz Intel Core Solo U1400 processor, up to 1 GB of RAM, ans Intel’s “Napa” notebook platform with the integrated 3D Intel Extreme Graphics. There is a choice of 40GB or 80GB hard drive, as well as 16GB or 32GB solid state drive options. The MR-1 supports WLAN, PAN, GPS and WWAN wireless connections.
Regarding ruggedness and durability, the GoBook MR-1 is resistant to high temperatures, drops, and vibrations, and protected from dust and humidity. The ultra-mobile GoBook’s display and hard drive are shock mounted.
For improved security, it has a fingerprint reader and the Trusted Platform Module 1.2.
The GoBook MR-1 will be available in September 2007 with the suggested retail price starting at $4,450.
