For business customers, Hewlett-Packard now optionally offers Windows XP operating system on its HP 2133 Mini-Note PC low-cost ultraportable laptop.
The new OS option is available as a downgrade from Windows Vista to Windows XP Professional. A specification sheet of the HP 2133 says that “to qualify for this downgrade an end user must be a business (including governmental or educational institutions) and is expected to order annually at least 25 customer systems with the same custom image”.
For users who decide to install Windows XP themselves, HP has provided the needed XP drivers, including the Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver.
The PC maker now also allows users to configure the HP 2133 based on their needs, instead of only buying preconfigured models.
…you can customize now….except you can’t customize everything, and not all options are available. IE: you can only select Vista or Vista downgrade as your OS options. No customizing for a 1.6GHz with Linux. For some reason Windows users get 1.2 or 1.6 GHz CPUs, while Linux users can only get 1.0 or 1.2 GHz (and only preconfigured choices). Like no bluetooth for them….
