The basic price for the HP Mini 1000 netbook will be $359.99 starting on Sunday 12/07/08, after a $40 drop, according to an email that we have received from Hewlett-Packard.
The basic Mini 1000 configuration currently includes an 8.9-inch display, the Intel Atom N270 processor at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM (after a free upgrade from 512MB), an 8GB solid state drive, 3-cell battery, and Windows XP Home operating system.
We do not know if HP will also slash price for the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition that starts at $699.

Rob Enderle Says:
The basic size of the 1000 model is 8.9 inches?
Shouldnt that be the 900 model?
Seems like 1000 would indicate 10 inches like the Asus Eee PC 1002HA indicates its a 10 incher,
