HP Pavilion dv2600 VerveHewlett-Packard will launch the HP Pavilion dv2600 14.1-inch customizable laptop this week, according to NotebookReview. The dv2600 is basically the same as the currently available dv2500t notebook, but with the new Imprint Finish called “Verve”.

The “Verve” design, “inspired by the fluidity of life” and “laser-etched by an inlaid moulding process”, has been already seen on the dv2550se (special edition) laptop, sold through BestBuy earlier this summer.

According to the Pavilion dv2600’s specifications published on the Australian HP website, the “Santa Rosa” platform-based notebook features a Celeron, Pentium Dual Core or Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and the integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 or the NVIDIA GeForce 8400M dedicated graphics, depending on purchaser’s choice. It comes with up to 4GB of system memory, up to 250GB SATA hard drive at 5400rpm, and a DVD burner with the Lightscribe technology.

We assume the HP Pavilion dv2600 model for the US market has the same networking capabilities, ports and slots as the dv2500t “Radiance” laptop, including a HDMI output on models with the GeForce 8400M video card.

The dv2600 weighs approximately 5.5lbs and will ship with Windows Vista operating system preloaded.

Currently there is no information on the notebook’s price.

Along with the news about the dv2600, NotebookItalia website published that HP will unveil the Pavilion dv6600t and dv9600t laptops, and the Pavilion tx1300 Tablet PC. These models are most likely aimed at markets outside the US, and have very similar specifications to the dv6500t, dv6500z, dv9500t, dv9500z and tx1000z.

All right. I am currently enrolled in college and I felt that now is the best time to buy my very *first* laptop.

For a few agonizing weeks I’ve researched on various laptops. I was close in choosing the Dell XPS 1330 & even an Inspiron but I just was not sure.

I really think that HP is underrated. They seem to have great laptops at a very reasonable price as well as good tech support/customer service, something that Dell is not known for. Let me add fast shipping and nice offers on their website.

I’m compelled to buy myself an HP laptop…very soon now.
