The HP Pavilion dv2z 12.1-inch entertainment ultraportable laptop, initially available as the preconfigured dv2-1030 system, can be customized and purchased now at the company’s website.
The AMD Yukon-based dv2z can be ordered with the single-core Athlon Neo MV-40, Athlon Neo X2 dual-core L335, or Turion Neo X2 dual-core L625 CPU, all clocked at 1.6GHz. The notebook features up to 4GB of DDR2 memory and up to 500GB of hard drive space, as well as an optional external optical drive – a DVD burner or a Blu-ray Combo. Video card choices include the integrated ATI Radeon X1250 or the Radeon 3410 HD Premium 512MB dedicated GPU with support for high-definition video content.
The 12.1″ LED backlight display has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.
The Pavilion dv2z also sports a near-full-size (92% of standard) keyboard, stereo speakers, a built-in web camera, a Wireless-G or Wireless-N card, optional Bluetooth, an optional mobile broadband module, a LAN port, three USB ports, a 5-in-1 media card reader, and a VGA output. An HDMI connector is present in configurations with the Radeon 3410 graphics card.
HP’s “thinnest and lightest notebook PC”, that is 0.93-inch thick and weighs 3.81 pounds, has a magnesium-aluminum-alloy case. It is available in a black or white Imprint finish.
The dv2z runs Windows Vista Home Premium or Home Basic OS and starts at $599 at the HP online store.
