HP Pavilion dv5tLaptop Magazine has reviewed recently the HP Pavilion dv5t 15.4-inch laptop PC, which is a part of company’s upcoming Intel Centrino 2 “Montevina“-based enterntainment notebook lineup.

According to the review, the Pavilion dv5t sports a “futuristic-chic” design and fast performance, provided by Intel’s new Core 2 Duo 9000-series 45-nanometer processor. In fact, Laptop Mag claims the dv5t is one of the fastest notebooks they have ever tested.

The reviewed model which includes the latest Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT dedicated GPU has an amazing gaming performance for a laptop. The system scored 3,937 points on 3DMark06 benchmark.

“Such high numbers mean you can easily play a handful of 3D games with most of the effects enabled”, Laptop Mag says adding that the sound was impressive and that the notebook’s display has excellent horizontal and vertical viewing angles. However, the glossy screen show a lot of glare.

The dv5t review does not include CPU benchmark resluts, as well as info on wireless throughput and battery life. The Magazine will share these informations with readers in the July/August time frame.

my dv5t has the same flickering problem. it was sent for repair when it was under warranty and supposedly fixed. the problem is back again and HP refuses to acknowledge that there is an issue with this model and that mine is a defective machine, and they refuse to repair it unless i pay $400+.
