HP Pavilion dv6tHewlett-Packard made available today the HP Pavilion dv6t series, the first Pavilion-branded laptop with a 16-inch display.

Along with the screen that has a movie-friendly 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1336×768 pixels, the dv6t features the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated or NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS 512MB dedicated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR2 memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive.

HP’s new entertainment notebook includes a built-in web camera, Altec Lansing speakers with Dolby Home Theater technology, an optionally integrated HDTV Hybrid tuner, Wireless-G or Wireless-N connectivity, optional Bluetooth, Ethernet LAN, and a 56K modem option.

The Pavilion dv6t also has HDMI and VGA outputs, four USB ports (4th shared with eSATA port), an ExpressCard slot, 5-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port on configurations with the dedicated NVIDIA video card, optional fingerprint reader, and an expansion port.

The laptop weighs 6.93 pounds with a standard 6-cell battery and has a “liquid metallic” finish, as well a numeric pad on the right of the keyboard. Customers can also choose an optional flush glass for a frameless look of the display.

The HP Pavilion dv6t runs Windows Vista OS and currently starts at $679.99 after instant savings.
