HP Pavilion tx2000 (tx2000z)Hewlett-Packard today announced the HP Pavilion tx2000 Tablet PC series, featuring a 12.1-inch touch screen display, and an AMD Turion 64 X2 processor.

The Pavilion tx2000, which is a successor of the tx1000 convertible notebook, supports up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, up to 250MB of hard drive space, and a built-in DVD burner. The display has a WXGA 1280×800 resolution.

According to a TabletPCReview’s report the tx2000 has the same design as its predecessor, but now has an active digitizer and touchscreen. Its lid is glossy black and has the Echo pattern, which also extends inside to the silver keyboard.

This 4.3-pound Tablet PC also packs an 802.11a/b/g/n wireless module, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet and 56K modem connections, three USB ports, and an ExpressCard slot, as well as VGA and S-Video outputs.

The HP Pavilion tx2000 (tx2000z) is expected to become available by January 8th through Hewlett-Packard’s website with a starting price of $1,299.
