HTC Unveiled Advantage (X7500) Laptop-Like Device

HTC today unveiled its Advantage laptop-like mobile office device, also known as HTC X7500, at the 3GSM World Congress Conference in Barcelona, Spain.

“The most powerful mobile office to date, the HTC Advantage is smarter and lighter than the smallest PC notebook. It supports Microsoft Outlook Mobile for quick access to email, calendar, task and contact functions. It is also the first device to feature HTC’s VueFLO easy navigation technology and detachable keyboard. A first for business functionality with high-speed global connectivity (Tri-Band 3G/ 3.5G (HSDPA) and Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE), the HTC Advantage is packed with PC-style power, functionality and multimedia features,” the company says.

The Advantage is powered by Intel PXA270 624 MHz processor and ATI Graphic Chip W2284 and features 256MB ROM and 128MB SDRAM memory, as same as 8GB hard drive. It has 5-inch touch screen, 3 mega-pixel camera with an additional camera and High power LED for camera flash, built-in microphone, dual speakers and loud speaker for Hands-Free operation.

Along with Tri-Band 3G/ 3.5G (HSDPA) and Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connections, the HTC Advantage comes with a variety of connectivity features, ports an slots such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, internal GPS antenna, 20 parallel channel GPS receiver, 3V USIM/SIM card slot, HTC ExtUSB (11-pin mini-USB 2.0 and audio jack in one), HTC proprietary 16-pin combined port (USB 1.1 host/VGA and TV Out) and miniSD card slot.

HTC Advantage (X7500) weights 359g including battery, which provides eight hours of operation between charges.

The device comes with Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition.

The HTC Advantage will first be available through T-Mobile (as the T-Mobile ‘Ameo’) in select European countries starting in March 2007, with HTC versions being released simultaneously in selected countries.
