HTC’s recently unveiled HTC Flyer, the company’s first tablet device, is now available for purchase in the US.
Exclusively sold at Best Buy for $500, the model HTCFlyerP512 has a 7-inch multitouch 1024×600 display and runs Android 2.4 “Gingerbread” OS with Sense user interface and Scribe digital pen input technology. According to the earlier press release, the Flyer includes a 1.5GHz single-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. However, the offered model has 16GB capacity.
The 0.92-pound tablet supports 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, and has a 5MP web camera on the back and a front-facing 1.3MP cam. Its battery provides “four hours” of video playback on a single charge.
There are also stereo speakers with SRS virtual surround sound, a GPS receiver, G sensor, digital compass, a Micro SD card slot.
In the Best Buy’s model, the digital pen is not included, as well as mobile broadband support.
