Intel plans to start offering a new low-priced Core 2 Duo Mobile (Merom) T5200 processor in October. The T5200 should be available at a price much lower than the current Core 2 Duo T5500 and T5600 budget Merom CPUS, which are priced at US$209 and US$241, respectively, Digi Times reports according to sources at Taiwan notebook makers.
The Core 2 Duo T5200, which will pair with Intel 945 chipsets, will compete with AMD’s entry-level Mobile Turion 64 x2 CPUs, the sources indicated.
There is no information about Core 2 Duo T5200 specifications.
