Intel plans to launch several new processors for the Centrino 2 “Montevina” notebook platform before the end of this year, as well as the “Montevina Refresh” platform in April 2009, DigiTimes’ sources at laptop makers say.
The new CPUs for the current Montevina include the Core 2 Quad Q9600 and Core 2 Duo T9800, T9550, P9600, P8700, SP9600, SL9600 and SU9600, as well as the dual-core Celeron T1700 and T1600.
Along with the refreshed Montevina, the chip maker is going to launch two new mobile processors in April – the Core 2 Duo T9900 and P8800.
“For the chipset segment, Intel is planning to launch the GM47 for the high-end in the first quarter of 2009, while in July or August the company will launch the GL43 for entry-level notebooks and GS40 for small form factor (SFF) PC,” the report says.
The GM55 mobile chipset, codenamed Ibexpeak-M, for Intel’s upcoming “Calpella” laptop platform is expected to be launched by July or August next year.
