Intel’s Santa Rosa laptop platform will feature draft 802.11n wireless support, even though the final ratification of this standard isn’t likely to come until 2008, Intel’s VP and GM of mobile platforms Mooly Eden said.
Releasing Intel’s Santa Rosa platform with a draft standard networking chip could possibly lead to sporadic performance and a number of interoperability issues as witnessed by the latest 802.11n test from eWeek, Daily Tech reports.
According to report, Intel is confident that compatibility and performance issues with the draft standard will be worked out by the time that Santa Rosa is released in Q1 2007.
