The Joojoo, an innovative Internet tablet device by a privately-funded Fusion Garage, is available for pre-order.

The Joojoo is a fully touch-screen tablet with the power on/off button only. The multi-touch capacitive 12.1-inch display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and a fingerprint-resistant coating.

Joojoo’s browser-based operating system doesn’t have any windows or menus. Instead, users can surf the web by using finger gestures, such as swipe or pinch.

According to the official website, the 2.4-pound tablet supports full HD 1080p video and has a battery life of up to 5 hours with Wi-Fi turned on.

Along with 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, the device also sports Bluetooth, a 4GB solid state drive, built-in web camera, speakers and microphone.

The company hasn’t provided info on core components such as processor, video chip, and RAM. However, UMPC Portal’s product database says the tablet has the Intel Atom Z530 processor, the GMA 500 integrated graphics, and 1GB of memory.

The Joojoo can be pre-ordered for $499.

The Internet tablet was earlier known as the CrunchPad. The latest reports say that TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington, who can be referred to as the inventor of the CrunchPad, has filed a suit against Fusion Garage for breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of business ideas, fraud, deceit, and unfair competition.
