This holiday season, PC vendors and retailers have prepared some very interesting laptop deals, with prices starting below $500.
The most affordable notebook in the US market currently is the Asus Eee PC 4G Surf for $349, which is a standard price for this 7-inch ultraportable. It features an Intel Celeron M processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 4GB Flash memory based drive, but it has no optical drive.
CircuitCity offers the 14.1″ Acer Aspire 4315-2490 for $399.99, after $200 mail-in rebate. It also features an Intel Celeron M CPU and has 1GB of system memory, an 80GB hard drive, and a Combo optical drive.
The cheapest brand new notebook by Dell is the Vostro 1000 with a 15.4-inch display, an AMD Sempron processor, 1GB of RAM, a 120GB HDD, and a DVD burner. It currently costs $449.
Hewlett Packard offers two 15.4″ laptops for $449 each, after $200 instant off - the Compaq Presario V6500Z (AMD Sempron, 512MB RAM, 120GB HDD, DVD burner) and Compaq Presario C700T (Intel Celeron M, 512MB RAM, 80GB hard drive, DVD burner). HP Pavilion-branded laptops start at $599.99 after instant savings.
Among great notebook saving oportunities is the Lenovo’s ThinkPad Holiday offer. You can get the high quality 15.4″ ThinkPad R61i for only $586.17 after $ 183.70 instant off and the USPHOLIDAY coupon code applied. The $586 ThinkPad R61i configuration features an Intel Celeron M CPU, 1GB of memory, an 80GB hard drive, and a Combo optical unit.
Customers can receive $100 off on new Fujitsu LifeBook notebook or Tablet PC purchase using coupon code FCSHOLIDAYS, while Sony claims savings of up to 40% on VAIO outlet notebooks.
For more demanding laptop users and occasional gamers, there is the ASUS F3 Series F3KA-X2 15.4″ notebook with a dedicated graphics card for $849, after $150 instant savings. The F3KA-X2 comes with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 512MB video card, the AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, and a DVD burner.
Customers willing to buy Apple’s notebook can save up to $100 on MacBooks and up to 22% on MacBook Pro models after mail-in rebates at MacMall. The MacBooks and MacBook Pros start at $1,019 and $1,749 after MIR, respectively.
In addition to instant savings and mail-in rebates, most of U.S. laptop vendors and retailers offer free shipping.
The best notebook offer this year was the BestBuy’s Toshiba Satellite + Printer bundle for only $229.
