Lenovo unveiled its first dual-core laptop computer - Lenovo 3000 N100. This widescreen laptop will be available starting on March 28, 2006. Prices for the N100 start at $999.00. Lenovo 3000 N100, as same as other Lenovo 3000 notebooks, will mostly be sold through Lenovo business partners and directly via the Web at www.lenovo.com.

Weighing in at just 5.6 pounds,(2) the new N100 comes in 14.1-inch and 15.4-inch widescreen models for viewing 20 percent more data space in spreadsheet applications or watching DVDs in the optimized format.“We designed the Lenovo 3000 N100 with mobile small business customers in mind, understanding their need for a powerful, yet easy-to-use notebook,” said Marc Godin, vice president of worldwide marketing, Lenovo’s notebook business unit. “With the N100, we wanted to create a notebook that helps make our customers work more efficiently and effectively. The N100’s widescreen display, dual-core processor and Lenovo Care tools help create a powerful, worry-free computing experience.”
The N100 is available with an Intel Coreâ„¢ Duo or Solo processor that efficiently runs multiple programs simultaneously, such as business applications while conducting virus scans in the background.(3) The N100 also offers complete connectivity features such as integrated 802.11 a/b/g wireless LAN(4) and 10/100 Ethernet on all models, and Bluetooth on select models.
With a host of multimedia capabilities, such as forward facing stereo speakers, an integrated microphone for playing and recording audio; and an integrated combo or DVD recordable drive, the N100 is well suited for the growing segment of small business users who rely on the same computer for both business and personal use.
The N100 also incorporates a 4-in-1 multi-card reader for downloading digital pictures from multiple types of memory cards, four USB ports, 1394 and S-Video ports. An integrated Web cam for business and personal communications and an integrated fingerprint reader for easier management of passwords are available as optional features.
