Lenovo 3000 V100Lenovo today announced Intel’s Core 2 Duo (Merom) update of its 3000 V100 12.1-inch widescreen notebook. The Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset based Lenovo 3000 V100 ultraportable comes with Core 2 Duo T5500, T5600 or T7200 processor, an integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics card, an Intel’s PRO/Wireless and main memory expandable to a maximum 2GB. The new Lenovo’s V100 laptops come with 40, 80, or 100GB 5400rpm hard drive and with combo CD-RW/DVD or dual-layer DVD burner drive.

Along with a 56K modem and 10/100 Ethernet, Lenovo 3000 V100 has integrated Bluetooth and a fingerprint reader on selected models. The notebook provides three USB ports, a VGA port, an IEEE 1394 port (4-pin) and a five-in-one multicard reader.

The Lenovo’s V100 has battery life of up to 2.20 hours with a 3-cell battery and up to 4.24 hours with a 6-cell battery. The laptop weights approximately 4.0 lbs to 4.32 lbs.

It comes with Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.

The Merom-powered Lenovo 3000 V100, which is planned to become available on October 31, costs at least $999. The cheapest Core 2 Duo V100 configuration includes T5500 CPU, 512MB of main memory, a 80GB hard drive, and a combo drive.
