Lenovo Classmate PC+ Netbook for K-8 Students Announced

Lenovo Classmate PC+Lenovo and Intel jointly announced the Lenovo Classmate+ PC, an affordable netbook specially designed for students in grade K-8.

The Classmate+ PC is based on Intel’s Classmate educational netbook and features a 10.1 inch LED-backlit anti-glare screen, the Intel Atom N455 single-core processor, 1GB or 2GB of system memory, a 16GB/32GB solid state drive or 160GB/250GB hard disk, Windows 7 Home Premium, Home Basic, or Home Starer OS, Intel’s Learning Series software suite, and battery choices including a 3-cell, 6-cell and extended 6-cell unit, providing 3, 7, and 8.5 hours of run time. Classmate+ PCs configured with the solid state drives have battery life that is half hour longer.

The netbook is ruggedized and has a drop- and spill-resistant exterior, as well as a carrying handle.

It has a built-in 1.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, and SD/SDHC/MMC memory card reader, 802.11n wireless, Ethernet LAN, three USB 2.0 ports, and VGA output.

Lenovo’s Classmate+ PC is available now worldwide to qualified education and government customers through Lenovo sales representatives and channel partners. Pricing varies depending on market, regional taxes, tariffs, and configuration options.
