As its model name suggests, the Lenovo IdeaPad P500 Touch 59374199 laptop is a touch-enabled model. What you can’t see judging from the product name is that this 15.6-inch notebook includes the 3rd Gen Intel Core i5-3230M dual-core processor, 6GB of RAM memory, a generous 1-Terabyte hard drive, and built-in DVD writer. With its current price of $650, the P500 Touch 59374199 represents a great value for money given it has a touchscreen display, excellent components and a nice design thanks to aluminum on the palm rests, soft touch finish on the lid, and a slim profile of 1.1″. To complement these, Lenovo has provided an ergonomic AccuType keyboard with smile-shaped LED-backlit keys. There are also Dolby Advanced audio technology for improved sound quality, stereo speakers, a built-in 720p webcam for Skype and other video chat services, Intel Wi-Di for wireless HDTV and monitor connectivity, and Bluetooth besides Wi-Fi and Gigabit LAN networking. The included i5 chip is a full class ahead of the i3, let alone the Pentium series and is good for usual daily tasks plus video / photo editing. Ports and slots grouped along the sides of the notebook are three USBs, 3-in-1 media card reader, and HDMI and VGA video outs. Lets mention some potentially negative sides of the P500 Touch 59374199. The battery inside it is a 4-cell unit, whereas laptops with the same screen size and the full voltage i5-3230M usually have a six cell unit. Another bad thing is that the battery is sealed and therefore not user-removable. Also, the notebook is a mediocre one in terms of visuals because it has no dedicated video card and the display resolution is 1366×768 pixels, wherears some other notebooks have 1600×900 or even full HD 1920×1080. But overall, this model is a no-brainer for those who want to experience Windows 8 with touch, without making compromises in terms of performance and without paying too much. If you don’t need touchscreen functionality but like the P500, you can get the P500 – 59372845 with similar specs and a lower price of $600. Another related option is the Lenovo P400 Touch – 59371991 with a 14″ screen for $530. Lenovo IdeaPad P500 Touch 59374199 Specifications

Can someone tell me why my P500 touch wont output any sound ive tried updating my sound card and trouble shooting it but nothing worked
I wish somenone can tell me how to replace the touch screen. The laptop fell
Where can I buy a Levono Ideapad P500.
The backlit keyboard on my P500 Ideapad/Windows 8.1 recently stopped working. I have tried “Fn Spacebar” endlessly and it doesnt work. I have downloaded the Lenovo Energy Management thing and still no backlight. The Capslk and Numlock keys both light up when pressed. I was troubleshooting a disabled keyboard and rotating screen orientation, and at one point the keyboard lit up- so i know it can still work. I just feel like its been deactivated somehow. Besides “Fn Spacebar”, is there another way to activate the backlight. I read something about sticky/filter keys causing a problem- so i turned those off- still no kb backlight. I appreciate any insight. Please help!
You may need to change the keyboard, mine stop working and I ordered a replacement from aliexpress and simply changed it..working fine.
