Lenovo has officially announced the availability of the IdeaPad U110 fashion-oriented ultraportable notebook PC, featuring an 11.1-inch display, Intel’s Centrino technology, black or red lid color, and a starting weight of 2.5 pounds.
The first two offered Lenovo IdeaPad U110 models feature a $1,899 price tag, and include the Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 low-voltage processor at 1.6GHz, the Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics, 2GB of system memory, a 120GB hard drive spinning at 4,200rpm, and an external DVD burner, since the notebook does not incorporate a built-in optical drive. The laptop’s 11.1″ widescreen display with LED backlighting has a resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels.
The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 has two built-in speakers, Dolby Home Theater technology, an embedded 1.3-megapixel web camera, Intel’s 4965AG wireless module, an Ethernet LAN port, Bluetooth in select models, three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, 6-in-1 media card reader, VGA output, and Firewire port.
Regarding design details, there are a “triking red or black cover finished in textured metal”, a frameless screen, and the MultiMedia Control Center touch-sensitive buttons.
With a default 4-cell battery, the IdeaPad U110 provides approximately 2 hours of run time. However, with an additional 7-cell unit, it has autonomy of up to 6 hours, according to the product’s specifications.
The Lenovo’s new small laptop comes preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium operating system and VeriFace face recognition software.
The IdeaPad U110 can be purchased now through the Lenovo website.
PC maker’s press release says this small laptop will be also available at Micro Center, Newegg, Tiger Direct, B&H, CompUSA, J&R, and RCS Experience in mid-May.
