Lenovo prepares the release of the IdeaPad notebooks, aimed at consumer market, SlashGear reports.
“The IdeaPad will come in three screens size, 11-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch. It will feature a “Facial Recognition” biometric authentication system using the 1.3megapixel webcam, Dolby sound, SSD drive options, touch sensitive multimedia controls, and a unique frameless design that creates no ‘raised’ rim around the edge of the screen (to give the appearance of no actual bezel). Under the hood, these systems will be powered by Intel’s Santa Rosa platform,” according to SlashGear.
These laptops will have a texturised chassis reportedly.
The 15-inch Lenovo IdeaPad will start at $799, wile the 17-inch will start at $1199. Pricing for the 11-inch IdeaPad ultraportable, as well as availability dates for IdeaPads are currently unknown.
UPDATE: Recommended pricing for the (15.4″) IdeaPad Y510 and (17″) Y710 starts at $799 and $1,199, respectively. The IdeaPad U110 (11″) notebook will be available in April.
