The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 13-inch laptops for small business users are now available.
The Edge 13″ notebooks come with AMD or Intel processor technology. The offered AMD-based configurations include the Athlon Neo X2 dual-core CPU and ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics, whereas the Intel-powered systems feature the Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU and GMA 4500MHD integrated GPU. Both versions ship with up to 4GB of RAM, up to 320GB of hard drive space, and a 4- or 6-cell battery. The laptops have no built-in optical drives.
The display resolution is 1366×768 pixels. The screens have LED backlight and glossy coating.
Lenovo’s ThinkPad Egde features “a new contemporary keyboard”, touchpad and TrackPoint, web camera and microphone, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and optional Bluetooth. 3G and WiMAX connectivity will be optionally available, according to Lenovo.
The Windows 7 Professional-based notebooks start at around 3.6 pounds and come in black, silver, and red.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge has a base price of $579 with the AMD CPU and $799 with the Intel CPU at the Lenovo online store.
The company is also expected to release the 14- and 15-inch models in 2Q 2010.
