The E520 and E420 include the standard voltage Intel Core 2nd Generation processors, while the E220s has a 2nd Gen Core ultra-low voltage chip.

The E520 and E420 come with a dual-core Core i3, i5 or i7 CPU, up to the Core i7-2620M, integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 750GB hard disk, optional 80GB micro solid state drive, and a DVD burner.

Although the E520 has a bigger screen, it has a 1366×768-pixel resolution, whereas the E420 features 1600×900. Both screens use LED backlight and have anti-glare or matte coating, depending on customer’s preference.

The ThinkPad Edge E220s ultraportable measures only 0.85 inch in profile. It is based on the Intel Core i5-2537M with integrated HD 3000 GPU and provides maximum 8GB RAM, storage options including a 250GB HDD, 32GB HDD, or 128GB SSD, 1366×768 glossy screen with edge-to-edge Infinity glass, and optionally built-in mobile broadband.

The laptops have Lenovo’s spill-resistant chiclet rounded-key keyboards called AccuType and a 720p web camera (optional in the E520 and E420), matte-black finish with metal accents, and Windows 7 Home or Pro operating system.

Lenovo rates battery life on all three models at up to 6 hours.

The E420 is slightly thicker and heavier than the earlier launched E420s and lacks edge-to-edge screen glass found on its thinner sibling. On the other side, it’s more affordable with a basic price of $549.00. The E520 and E220s start at $549.00 and $749.00, respectively.
